What Happens at a Solar Panel Installation?

But generally, your installation day will look something like this:

1. Our installation team typically arrive between 8-10 am. They’ll arrive at your property, meet with you and go over the full plan for the day. They’ll also confirm where everything is being installed and make sure you’re happy before they get started.

• 2. Next up, the electrical work begins. While the installation gets underway, our electrician will set up the wiring needed to connect your solar panels to the inverter. This includes getting the cables safely from the roof down to where your inverter will be installed.

• 3. The team then gets to work on the roof. Our installers will then start to secure the mounting system to your rooftop. As part of our installation process, we’ll replace the relevant roof tiles with our protective roof tiles, protecting your roof where the mounting system is fitted.

• 4. Solar panels will now begin to be fitted. Once the mounting system is securely in place, our team will carefully position and secure your solar panels. They’ll make sure everything is properly aligned and securely fitted before moving on to the next stage.

• 5. Now it’s the battery and inverters' turn. The electrician will connect the solar inverter to your consumer unit. If you’ve chosen to have a solar battery, this will also be installed and connected at this stage.

• 6. We’ll also test the system. Before anything is switched on, we’ll carry out the necessary checks and tests to make sure everything is working as it should be.

• 7. Finally, we’ll show you how everything works. Before we leave, we’ll give you a full guide to the work that’s been completed. We’ll also talk you through your brand new system and show you how to use the super handy monitoring app, which gives you insight into your solar generation and energy use.

And that’s it! By the end of the day, you’ll have a new solar panel system ready to start generating your own renewable energy.
